Ear Piercing at The Peds MD

Peds MD is proud to be a Blomdahl USA–certified piercing location. Blomdahl is a Swedish company that pioneered medical-grade, sterile, single-use ear piercing systems.

All Blomdahl earrings we use are made with 100% medical-grade titanium and 0% nickel, eliminating the risk of nickel allergy. Our process is quick, safe, and designed with comfort in mind!

Where We Pierce

We offer professional ear piercing:

  • In-office at The Peds MD
  • In-home* for added convenience and comfort!

Available for all ages, and open to members and non-members (members receive discounted pricing).

Optional numbing cream (EMLA) is available to help minimize discomfort.

Eligibility & Piercing Areas

Minimum age: 3 months

Piercing locations: Earlobes and upper ear cartilage

Healing & jewelry guidelines:

Starter earrings should remain in place for 6–10 weeks before changing

For best healing, earrings should be worn 24/7 for the first year*

*Individual healing varies. Cartilage piercing healing takes longer.

Pricing

All pricing is per piercing session, which may include one or two piercings (for example, both ears).
Each session includes:

  • Medical-grade titanium starter studs
  • Sterile, single-use Blomdahl piercing system
  • Aftercare kit

Additional piercing sessions must occur during the same appointment time and same visit.
(Examples: parent, sibling, or second person pierced during the same scheduled session.)

Numbing Cream:
We use EMLA, which requires 30–60 minutes to take full effect.

Additional Piercing Sessions (same appointment only): $75 per session (mom, dad, sibling — we don’t judge)

Non-Members

$250 – additional $25 for numbing cream

$150 – additional $25 for numbing cream

What Does a Piercing Session Look Like?

Before Your Visit

  • Complete a waiver
  • Receive numbing cream if selected (included for members)

During the Appointment

  • We take time to get to know you — we never rush, members or non-members
  • Explain the procedure and show everyone the device (including the sound it makes)
  • Prepare equipment and select your starter studs (we have options!!)
  • Choose piercing sites
    • Ears only (earlobe or cartilage)
    • For children, parents are encouraged to help mark placement
  • Once everyone agrees on placement, the area is cleaned and the device is aligned

The Piercing

  • The Blomdahl device pierces the ear and secures the backing in one smooth motion

Aftercare

  • Review aftercare instructions
  • Answer questions
  • You’re all set and are ready to enjoy your new piercing!
